Hand Puppets

This page is dedicated to the wide scope of puppets that are referred to as hand, or glove, puppets.   Some  of these representations have a rod apparatus included as well, but the sole basis for their head, body, and mouth movement and overall articulation through the operators hand moving a glove mechanism.  Some simply drape the hand while others have a complex tube of material that completely covers the lower arm, but either way, this is a broad and spectacular corner of puppetry.

The various sizes and items the puppets are made of are included to give a proper sense of scale, so one can truly appreciate that puppets needn’t be overwhelmingly huge to have a very powerful feel to them.
