  • Harry Potter Icon Brand New Magical Year

    Posted on by Drew

Happy New Year everyone.  Firstly, allow me to thank Rock Hill for allowing me the opportunity to perform for their ‘Harry Potter’ night.  My first gig of 2017, but definitely not the last.  I created many a prop, costume , and puppet for that event.  Everyone in the vicinity of Fountain Park, they have many wonderful events, so keep a lookout for me roundabouts.   Secondly, there seems to be a problem with people getting in contact with me.  In that eventuality, should you need an immediate response, look to my contact page and follow those instructions.  I’d love to contact anyone who is serious about my craft.  And having said that, please feel free to drop me a line.  Welcome to a new chapter.

    Posted on by Drew

Well this holiday has been full of so many gigs thus far, but alas the majority have been for private functions.  I’ve created the Grinch, Santa, Sam the Snowman, and several more to perform both classic and contemporary Christmas jingles.  However there is still hope, for in the next week or so preceding Christmas I will have quite a few shifts at the Polar Express, located at the Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC.  I can’t give specific dates, but regardless it’s worth stopping by and having a truly festive ride and enjoy a few moments of child-like innocence.  Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

  • Dino Eye Turkey with Dinosaurs?

    Posted on by Drew

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!  Normally I give my loyal fans a bit more forewarning, so I am sorry for the tardiness of this post.  In the past during the fabulous parade in Uptown Charlotte I have walked in Renaissance garb, juggled, and even ridden.  However, for this year I did the dinosaur march with ‘Sally’ the T-Rex.  I had a bit of trouble with her this go around, but all and all the parade was a success.  If you didn’t catch it live then perhaps you can catch the reruns.  Who knows what next years will bring.

The chilling time or year is upon us and the puppet guru has a non-stop schedule for performances.  Starting today, Oct. 22nd, I will be in Lancaster with several stilt characters.  The following week, several different outfits, dinos,  and puppets will be making some local appearances.  Then on the 29th I’ll travel back to the Tryon Equestrian Center for their spooky evening.  As for Halloween itself I’m not too sure, but as always I’ll try to enjoy myself as much as possible.  Have a spooktacular time my loyal followers.

  • Fossil Treasure A Labor Day To Go Down in History

    Posted on by Drew

Well Labor Day is officially here and I have been working tirelessly to try and make a historic, or perhaps a prehistoric, dent in the 2016 North Carolina Festival Season with ‘Dakota and Friends’.  This endeavor is just beginning, so if you are in or near Rowan County, Surry County, the Mt. Airy area or any other location with a fall festival then check the line-up to see if our dinosaurs are going to make an appearance.  Labor Day marks the final day at our Hickory location, so stop on by and check us out.  Thanks for all the support everyone and lets move forward into a great holiday season.  Ok, break time is over… back to work.

  • Festive Child Matthews Alive Comes Alive

    Posted on by Drew

The summer is nearly at an end, but things are still looking up for the puppet master.  Two seasons ago I thrilled audiences at Matthews Alive with my rendition of ‘Peter and the Wolf’.  Now I am going to return by popular demand with an original show I call ‘The Underwater Museum’.  I don’t want to give too much away, but for my loyal followers I’ll be performing Saturday and Sunday with this wonderful show.  It’s interactive, it’s mime, it’s fun, and of course it’s puppetry.  Come on by and see.  And if you are early enough to catch the morning parade on Saturday, I’ll be walking with one of the dinosaurs from Dakota and Friends.  Enjoy what remains of the sunny season and I’ll see you in September.  Below is a little hint for those who can’t stand a good surprise.

  • Dino Eye A New Dinosaur Age

    Posted on by Drew

Greetings friends.  As you may well know I have been working alongside Ed Bounds for a month now and have been learning the ‘Dino’ trade while going from library to library in the southern Virginia area.  Our first real test of my skill will be at the Lock City Comic Con in Stamford, CT.  We’ll be up there all weekend, so if I have any fans from that area that are gonna be there make sure you stop by and say hi.  In the meantime, have a happy Independence Day and always remember that freedom should be fun.

  • Mardi Icon Beads and Masks

    Posted on by Drew

Bonjour my faithful followers.  Tonight the grand puppet man himself will be walking stilts at the Sheraton Hotel in Uptown Charlotte to commemorate another close to the popular Mardi Gras season.  I always enjoy such festivities, especially since I was able to visit New Orleans just a few weeks ago.  So if you’re on the guest list and wanna sport a mask and have a bit of folly, stop on by later this evening and maybe I’ll throw some beads at you.  It won’t be too hard to find me, I’ll be the 8′ tall clown with shiny adornments and glowing juggling balls.  If not, there’s always next time.

  • Asian Art Icon NCTC Is In For a Treat

    Posted on by Drew

My good friend, Lazaro Memije, has commissioned me once again to help his kids out with some fabulous puppet props.  Once more an Asian themed show, I will be creating a Japanese style dragon, several masks, and an elaborate headdress.  If you are a student, or know one, at Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte keep a keen eye out for my creations.  In the meantime, have a festive Mardi Gras, a respectful Black History month, and a sweet Valentine’s Day.  Later!!
